These cocoa beans come from the indigenous Arhuacos tribe who for centuries have been the guardians of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain region, It is an ancient cacao growing area and the Arhuacos derive their livelihoods mainly from sustainable agriculture including harvesting of native cacao deep in the jungle. It has a complex and well-balanced taste with fudgy, nutty notes. We add roasted nibs of the beans onto the back of the bar for extra crunchy texture
