These cocoa beans come from the indigenous Arhuacos tribe who for centuries have been the guardians of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain region, It is an ancient cacao growing area and the Arhuacos derive their livelihoods mainly from sustainable agriculture including harvesting of native cacao deep in the jungle. It has a complex and well-balanced taste with fudgy, nutty notes. We add a very small amount of English black truffle oil to the batch - less than half of one percent, We've found that that amount is just enough to enhance the flavour rather than to overwhelm
